When an older, accomplished actor dies, at least you can reflect back on a large body of work. When a talented young actor in his prime passes, you're left wondering about what could have been. Such is the case with Heath Ledger, who passed away unexpectedly today.
Not only are we shocked and sad that he's gone, we're sorry we didn't have the space to look at more of his films in the pages of S&V. Still, we're glad we can at least reflect back on two of his efforts:
And, of course, Brokeback Mountain.
We look forward to seeing his work as The Joker in this summer's The Dark Knight.
Until then, here are a couple of photos of Ledger in costume for that
role. The pix get us exclted—until the sadness hits that we may never
see him in another movie (he was currently filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, according to IMDB).
