If you watched the HD debut of The Simpsons this weekend, then you probably noticed the super-fast scan during the open. I couldn't help but wonder what hilarious stuff was going on in that split second, so I put together a quick and dirty panorama. My pause button is tired. My favorite part is easily Ralph playing on top of the grave of Frank Grimes. The chef and Bee Man standing randomly in a field is pretty funny, too. But, who the heck is that guy in black standing between Cletus and the Mayor? [UPDATE: Answer in the comments! Thanks guys!]

I LOVED the new opening! Nice that they changed it up for the 1st HD broadcast. Glad you took the time to make the panorama! The mystery man in question is none other than Chazz Busby, of the Springfield Ballet Academy. "See that. That's talent. Think you got it? You don't. 'Cause only I can teach it, and I ain't taught you, so you don't."

He's in a few episodes as a dance instructor (most recently, teaching Lisa ballet, where she was tempted to smoke).

I loved when Chazz walked through town doing "jazz hands". too funny.
I like Ms. Hoover changing the tire on the bus. That's good work.
The Simpson's have jumped the shark no less than 12 times and I love that they keep coming back. Best. Show. Ever!

For Ned to be a major role in the movie and not having him in the opening sequence is crazy!!
Also I didn't see Mrs. krabappel either. I thought she should have a spot in there. Lisa's teacher is there, how come not Bart's?

Really don't see much point in switching a cartoon to HD. It certainly doesn't make it any funnier, and that's the one and only raison d'etre of a cartoon comedy series.
