Streaming NetFlix Over Xbox 360

Netflix_logo It's not an officially sanctioned marriage, but more like common law. With a little effort, you can stream NetFlix movies over your Xbox 360 video game console. It isn't even really a hack — just a clever application of a Vista Media Center plug-in. You'll need: an Xbox 360, Windows Vista PC, NetFlix account, and a free Windows Media Center plug-in called vmcNetflix.

Xbox 360 Gamers Get the HD Blues

Xbox360ringofdeath Sure, the high-def format war was tense and bloody, though it had nothing on Call of Duty 4 or Assassin's Creed.

But for gamers who don't already own both a PlayStation 3 and an Xbox 360, the format war may have left them feeling just a little unsatisfied. Sony's PS3 comes with a built-in Blu-ray player, while the Xbox 360 supported an optional HD DVD drive.

The Financial Times is reporting that Sony is in talks with Microsoft to create such a device for the PS3, while gaming site Next Gen quotes a Microsoft PR representative stating that "There are no plans to introduce Blu-ray." Until one of these companies makes an official announcement, gamers will have to hedge their bets.

Guitar Hero a Wii Bit Off

Guitar Wii users, stop banging on your speakers. It's not your system or your ears. Your Pearl Jam solo is suffering from a glitch in the Wii version of Guitar Hero 3 that's putting out mono sound rather than a multi-channel version advertised as Dolby Pro Logic II on the package. The only way your Guitar Hero 3 will output multi-channel audio is via an update due out early next year.

Activision sent out this mea culpa with a promise of making good--without providing details.
